In this case, Dani should be more responsible for taking
care of his children because his youngest son, Dul, have killed 7 people and
injured others in a car accident at thirteen years old. Dani was actually aware
that Dul drives sometimes. Dani
should’ve not allowed him to drive because Dul is not emotionally stable yet at
13. And according to the Stanford studies, it is clearly stated that, “As
people age, they’re more emotionally stable and are better in the ability of
solving highly emotional problems”. It means that when you get older, you’ve
learned from your mistakes everyday, and when it comes to solving problems in
the future, you will know what to do because you have learned from a certain
situation that have happened in the past. For example, you feel that a car is
about pass in front of you, so when you have learned and applied your driving
skills everyday, you will know what to do, you’re going to use your reflex to
stop the car.
Usually, a certain behavior of a child is affected by their
parents’, this is because most children looks up to their parents; they want to
be like them in the future so they start acting like them and also raising
their future children with the same way that their parents are treating them in
the present. According to a psychology book that is written by Sigmund Freud,
it is stated that a child’s future behavior is determined by the way he was
treated in his 4 – 6 year of age. And let’s go back to Dani and Maya, Dul’s
parents who are now divorced, relationship. Dani and Maia got divorced in 2006
because of Dani’s love affair with Mulan, Maia’s duo that tore the marriage
apart.
While another argument against this stated that the toll
person should have noticed that the car was drove by a thirteen-year-old.
However, nowadays most teenagers look like they’re two or three years older
than they actually are, so the toll person could not differentiate the
difference between teenagers and an adult. And it was not the toll person’s
fault because he wad busy to take care of other cars that are behind him, so he
didn’t have the time to take his phone out and call the police.
According to these arguments, Dani is still responsible for
Dul’s action for letting his underage son drive. He should also control his
behaviors because his children look up to him and that he should pay more
attention to his children in the future.
