Do Uniforms Make Any Better?

Do uniforms make any better? Personally, I don’t think it does. I am against wearing a school uniform in Sekolah Victory Plus. There are many pros and cons about using a uniform. When we face other opinions that doesn’t matches ours, we tend to think, “But it’s not logical, it will always be like..”. And that is how our brain works. At first, we don’t understand why would someone have his way of thinking, but when we learn about him, we understand; we might also have the same way of thinking.

First of all, I think not wearing a school uniform might be a good idea, because we can express our identity, because I think, usually if you have the same kind of clothes as someone, that person could possibly have the same interest as yours, because in my opinion, you are what you have. From the past 14 years, I haven’t seemed to find someone with a sophisticated look, with a soul that is rebellious. They tend to be quiet, classy and fabulous.

But Velda, what if it’s inappropriate, surely the head of school would disagree, but I think, teenagers would be happy to know that they got to wear free clothes with rules than having a uniform with no rules. Because some people dislike the way their uniform look, they will push the boundaries, they would pull up their skirts so people can see their thighs, they would unbutton some buttons to create a V-neck collar and I think it’s such a disrespectful attitude to use uniform with other usage, uniforms are supposed to be tidy and clean, but some people use it as an inappropriate kind of way. It would embarrass the school’s name and our name. But if we use our own clothes, they’d just see us, and if it were the way we dress, it’d be fine because it’d our fault either way, because we it’s our decision.

Second of all, it’s about equality. Blazer, white shirt, cottoned shirt, a vest. What’s the first thing that comes into your mind? Luxury clothes from an expensive school with high education of English and western students. Blue skirt with rough fabric and a white shirt. What’s the first thing that comes into your mind? National school and local students. I believe that human will never be satisfied, ever. They will always see what’s above them, and they have a will to be “it”. But again, what if the school would implement a rule to not have a brand name on their clothing? So that means no “Love Pink” shirt, no this “Check” Nike and etc.

There are still a lot of pros and cons that I would like to talk about, but the time is right behind me and it will catch me any minute. But from these paragraphs, we can conclude that Uniforms are not going to make any better because of equality and inappropriate ways of using uniforms. But I think, what’s even better is to combine the school uniform with free clothes. With one condition, plaid and patterns are a “No, No” since they’re not going to be able to match with other patterns if we happen to wear a clothing with another clothing with a pattern on it. So it should be bold and black, white or brown, because they’re the basic colors that will match any patterns and any colors. I really appreciate for the one who took their time on reading my boring essay. I really hope that you will have a great year. Because “a day” is too mainstream.

Thank you for spending 6 minutes and 23 seconds of your life.
